Our meditation classes are conducted by Dhammakaya meditation instructors, and practitioners who have committed their lives by ordaining to teach meditation and dhamma (reality of life). They are eager to teach their technique and wisdom on meditation methods, benefits and knowledge gained from meditation, and our true purpose. Every session will be inspiring and will help encourage one to meditate. Though many of us are aware that meditation can help with stress, there is still so much more to learn from the benefits of meditating. We constantly need to be reminded and encouraged to meditate, otherwise it is easy to forget how meditating can be beneficial to our overall well being.
Everyone, no matter what background or belief, is welcome to our meditation classes. They are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6224 W. Gunnison Street, Chicago IL and Sundays at 5849 N. Nina Avenue, Chicago IL. During these classes, we begin with stretching exercises, then meditate together in a calm and peaceful group setting, followed by a brief Dharma discussion. The full schedule for the classes are listed below. The classes are free, though donations are greatly appreciated as we use them for utility payments. We have water and mats available, so you do not have to bring anything other thana ready attitude. We recommend comfortable and modest clothing, please nothing transparent, tight, or revealing.
